Sand filters should be backwashed and rinsed
approximately every 10 days or so, depending
on the pressure gauge and if it varies 10
psi above normal operating. Be sure to
observe your pressure gauge after you have
cleaned your system and watch the normal
setting (psi). D.E. (diatomaceous earth)
filters need to be bumped every 10 to 15
days and the filter should be cleaned
approximately once per month. Again watch
your pressure gauge and note the psi to
determine how often to clean your filter
system. Cartridge filters should be hosed
off every seven (7) to ten (10) days,
depending on your psi.
